Quote of the month
"And
what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are
not warned from time to time that their people preserve the
spirit of resistance? Let them take arms ... The tree of liberty
must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots
and tyrants. It is it's natural manure."
- Thomas
Jefferson, letter to William S. Smith in 1787

Editors Rant 'And they shall reap the whirlwind'

"The people -- the people -- are the rightful
masters of both congresses and courts -- not to overthrow the constitution,
but to overthrow men who pervert it--" Abraham Lincoln
- Notes for Speech in Kansas and Ohio - September 16-17, 1859
As I site here in the heartland cleaning my guns, a bible
close at hand, an overriding frustration consumes my well established
conservative thoughts. Why, with the Presidential election nearly
at hand, do I once again find myself forced to choose between the
lesser of two evils? How many times must we make this choice until
there is nothing lesser to choose than just plain evil?
As conservatives, we have not had a genuine candidate since Ronald
Reagan. Once again, if only to keep the Obamessiah from occupying
the Oval office, we must cast a vote for the lesser of evils - 'liberal-lite'
John McCain. The Republican Party has betrayed us. They have abandoned
the core beliefs which brought them to power and are no better than
the vermin they were sent to replace. We have allowed ourselves
to be cajoled into supporting these vapid RINO
moderates for too long. We have foolishly sown the wind and are
reaping the whirlwind of our folly.
Whatever the election results this Tuesday, we the people
will lose, the politicians will continue to rapaciously render our
Republic irrelevant and America will continue its irreversible descent
into oblivion.
God save the Republic.

"Government is not reason; it is not eloquent;
it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful
master." - Unknown
Today, in America, there is an all
too prevalent and appalling apathy as our liberties are ripped away
in a gruesome fashion not unlike some ugly partial-birth abortion
procedure! As Americans, we are ignorant of the restrictions placed
upon the government and the rights of the peoples secured by our
Constitution.
We are succumbing to our fears, be they real or artificial. Wanton
greed and the fallacy of 'Government knows best' has permeated American
politics, society and culture. My friends, the Constitution and
our very way of life are under attack! Full Story

"The following story was originally intended
for the Pavo News 2006 edition, but was never published. Because
of the ramifications, we thought the story important at the time.
Since then, with the resignation of Donald Rumsfeld and the appointment
of a new commander in the theater of operation, we were hoping things
had changed. This does not appear to be the case given that NATO
has tightened the rules of engagement after reported "civilian
deaths" . Here is the story as it would have been reported in September
of 2006." - The Editor
I've been convinced for some time
now that the US has regressed to a Vietnam mentality in the ongoing
operations inside Afghanistan and Iraq. Following our militaries
exceptional victories in both countries, the inevitable happened;
the politicians took the reins and began the squandering of a brilliant
military victory. Full Story
