Quote of the month
"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children's children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done."
- Ronald Reagan

Editor's Opinion
'America Has Spoken'

Ron Peacock
Wooster, OH (PN)

Bush defeats Kerry    Well readers, what did you think of the election? Are you thankful it has finally ended? Has it really ended? In Ohio, we have a frivolous recount that will cost taxpayers at least 1.5 million dollars, something this economically challenged state can ill-afford. I guess it is a form of payback since there are many people angered because their attempts to corrupt the Ohio voting process ended in failure. Whatever the facts, the election process has ended and the American people have spoken. The winners are George Bush, the American people and the Republican Party (which picked up a rare second term majority of congressional seats). For the losers, it should be a time of reflection and repentance. Now is the time for the Democratic Party to make some serious changes and reevaluate their parties core beliefs; which have proven to be contradictory to the spirit of the American character. Will this happen? I have not seen or heard anything that would convince me of the possibility.

No Christmas    The secular-left continues the assault on Christmas once again this season. A number of schools have banned displays that include the words Christmas and any reference to the Christian theme of the holiday, students are not allowed to distribute Christmas cards, plays such as 'A Christmas Carol' have been canceled because they may insult the sensitivities of certain minority groups and Christmas vacation is now winter break. As holiday lights festoon homes across America and menorahs come out of storage, most Americans think of Chanukah and Christmas as calendar comrades keeping one another company in December. In some years that is true while in others Chanukah falls earlier, coming out much closer to Thanksgiving, a holiday with which it has far more in common.
